The city of Novus is surrounded by various bodies of water and this gives Apex Hydra a huge advantage. She comes from a family whose genetics were modified during the Empyrean Curse giving them the ability to breath in water like oxygen with limitations. As generations past and Apex came into the world, she was the first to inherit a fully functioning respiratory system that gave her unlimited breathing capability. After arriving in Novus, she took a leadership role in the Faction and with the help of some excellent Tinkerers, designed a nanite tail. Most people could not see the true Apex Hydra unless you caught her submerged… then you could see the monster inside.
