There was a rich supply of raw materials such as precious metals including gold and iron on Svalrland. So, it was decided that the wood would be transported from Annarr to Svalrland and both communities would send manpower to begin building their enormous ships. To this day, no two ships of this size have ever been built again. This was the most massive construction project of a transportation vehicle in the history of the world.
