Chaos theory is the basis for this primative religion. Any slight mathmatical change in the environment or any other complex system is being measured by these chaos seekers. If a change occurs, it begins a prayer cycle and a enlightenment period in which they believe a tyrannical god appears and requires a life for sacrifice. The magus is in charge of making sure the rituals are carried out in full.
